Idaho Moms' Network
A local network of stay-at-home moms since 1992

Idaho Moms' Network
is a member-led social and support group for moms or dads and their children living in Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, and surrounding areas. The group has no religious affiliation and is for all families, but especially stay-at-home moms or dads looking for playgroups, group activities and learning opportunities to engage in with their children. Members design events and activities that help the whole family make new friends and get to know the area they live in.
Hello IMN family! I am so ready for spring and for some consistent warm weather. My kids are already asking to go to the park. I look forward to planting flowers and the garden as an opportunity to teach the circle of life. My kids love watching the plants grow. I hope your family has a wonderful spring!
Primarily, I would like to share the benefits I've experienced in my five years of membership with IMN. Most importantly, I have made lifelong friendships. Through them I have had a host of good advice on everything from nursing issues to behavioral interventions. Also, I had people to lean on in times of need and an avenue to vent my frustrations as a parent to people who understood.
It is also good to note, I have seen a difference in my son who had his first play date long after going to preschool, and my daughter who has been in a playgroup since she was six weeks old. Because we traveled extensively, I was unable to expose my first child to his peers. Although he was socialized a lot, it was mainly with adults. Through the events and playgroups of IMN, both my children have learned valuable social skills, confidence, a more worldly view, and gained what I hope will be lifelong friendships. As a final point, IMN is an important part of our community. The support and linking of parents helps us all be the best parents we can be. It takes a village. . . .
Subsequently, I want to ask that all of you thank your board members when you see them. They all work very hard and put in several hours for nothing in return. We have organized parties, kept a balanced budget, prepared the calendar, created a beautiful newsletter and web site, and made Emily Post much easier to use. Now we have added a Meetup.com account which we hope will facilitate the sharing of information, provide a more public forum for communication with the entire network, and reach more potential members. Please, take advantage of this free service and join the IMN Meetup. We are here for you!
Conclusively, I wanted to reiterate our policy in regards to limiting illness. We ask that you make sure your child has not had a fever for 24 hours before attending any events. Having said this, keep in mind that we are exposed to illness when there aren't any symptoms from the host. We all do our best to keep it contained, but we should all try to understand that it is just sometimes futile.
As always, you are all welcome at the meetings to voice your ideas and concerns about the network. We always meet on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7pm. We most readily welcome your involvement!
